Buy a plant. Bring it home. Plant it in the soil. These are all good things. But don’t forget to undress that plant! Untie it, take off those tags, loosen the wraps, throw out the plastic. It seems every street I go down, somewhere among the landscaping, are plants with the tags left on. It is good to identify things, but these could be placed inconspicuously at the base (as in rose tags) or better yet, stored in a notebook. People don’t wear price tags home after buying new clothes or leave the stickers on their new appliances, then why new plants? It’s a mystery to me.
