We need flowers year round. It just makes life a little bit better. Tricyrtis is a perennial that blooms for us during August, September and October and can grow in partial shade. Exciting, right? When I saw this one blooming it had an abundance of flowers that were dripping off the stem. A nice contrast to the bright, warm colors of echinacea and rudbeckia. A beautiful lily-like flower and spotted like a toad? Smells like a toad? Has a small home in your garden like a toad? I’m not sure where the Toad part comes in, but it’s a little cutie. This plant grows between 1 and 3 feet and is an important nectar source for hummingbirds and butterflies.

I adore this plant in the early fall here.
