All Shades of Green—-A Plant Perspective

Weeping Seqoia

Weeping Seqoia

Seqoiadendron giganteum ‘Pendulum‘ is like an alien tree.  It doesn’t look like most of  the other trees here on earth. I’ve been watching this one in my community for many years and find it an impressive specimen.  Growing crooked, reaching up towards the sun, it’s fascinating to look at.  The weeping sequoia can reach heights of 25 feet and grows in zones 6-9.  What does it remind you of?

  1. It reminds me of a cormorant, stretching its neck up to the sky! :-)

  2. Oh, wow! That is a biggy. I’m sure the residents feel safe in that house… the plant kind of acts as a body guard! It reminds me of a crooked palm tree in Cyprus near my Grandpa’s village. It is basically this very tall palm tree at a slant.

  3. Reminds me of a bird…I have to say although it is impressive, it seems oddly out of place where it is in the front yard

  4. The most Seussical of plants! I do love those…I’ll see if I can’t fit one into the front yard!
